Default Those With U/d Pulleys

Im thinking about doing a u/d pulley....i understand that it turns the accessories slower but i thought i read somewhere on here that it affects the power steering. Will the u/d make the car alot harder to steer or is it a very minimal difference??
BTW I have a M6 and no big stereo or plans for one if that makes a difference. Thanks!!

Mine did not effect anything at all. I drove it alot last year too. I put 20k miles on it last year with the pulley on it. I also drove it in bumper to bumper traffic too and from work.

I remember reading an article where Turn-one, the people who make the power steering pumps for Nascar as well as aftermarket versions for the f-body stated that the power steering goes into bypass mode at roughly 1200 rpms because it reaches the max pressure at that point. Something like at 700 rpm idle, it's at 80-90 of max pressure.

So if anything, you will get better steering response but more importantly, you'll put less wear and tear on your power steering pump.

ok thanks for the input fellas...i figure it'd be alot easier to put the u/d on while doing the headers and cam since that front cover has to come off anyway

I also did not feel much of a difference when i did mine, but the car loses a bit of electric power i guess you would say when i'm off the throttle, all the light dim a little bit.
