Default True Dual Poll X or H

Ok guys we are in the R&D on making a stainless true dual setup to go with our LS1 header. Which is the most poplar setup with everyone an X pipe or a H pipe setup?

I think it would be in your best interest to offer both. Essentially the design would be the same. The merge would just have to be swappable, but that should be fairly easy to do. I'd love an H-pipe true dual system. I have no interest in TD's with an X-pipe, though.

Like I said in the other thread, I think you'd greatly benefit by offering an H-pipe TD system. NO ONE has that. Any prefab TD system has an X-pipe for these cars. If someone wanted an H-pipe, they'd be forced to order your kit if they couldn't go custom, so you'd get a lot of buys just by that. If the quality turns out really well, and I'm sure it will...well, it'll sell itself.

Well like I said in the other thread you got me thinking. I love the sound of an H pipe setup over an X setup and the performance difference isn't that much. But I'll wait to see what the feedback is

The H pipe will be friendlier to fit on the car because the pipes can more easily be placed close together.

Are you planning on making the duals run down the same side or on each side?

You are gonna get alot of different opinions but I would rather have an H pipe setup myself if I were in the market.

I build alot of duals for people and Im always happier with the H pipe setups over the x pipes.

i'd say offer both, but if you only do one, i'd go with an h-pipe. i like the sound better and every other pre-fad true duals are x-pipes so you'd be the only place to offer it.

dumped or ran all the way out back?

Well I guess the BIG question is what people want more from a true dual sound or performance.

Well the price would be cheaper than anything else out there and be made out of stainless. What we are working on would be dumped at the rearend.

I love the way my H-Pipe with single chambers sounds. I've heard quite a few x-pipe systems, but the H just sounds better IMO and I would rather have a better sounding system than an addition 1-3hp with an X. I vote H.

I actually think the H outperforms the X myself, and because the exhaust from the 2 banks are not being directed directly toward each other like an X, the sound is almost always smoother and more refined.

Im sure someone could dig up the comparison that was done a mustang between an H and X and the H pipe made slightly more power everywhere except for the peak. The H didnt make much more power but even if it only made the same everywhere and lost 1 or 2 at peak you can rule out the whole performance difference right there.

Would be cool to see both offered, IMO H gives a meaner sound but I have seen more power with X pipes.

Totally agree. I just bought an X-pipe but only because i got a killer deal on it. I was thinking about H-pipe, but when i hear that, mustang comes to my head. If i'm not happy, next set up will be an H-pipe. Most people say the X-pipe outperformes the H-pipe. I'd offer both but mostly H-pipes, as mentioned before, an H-pipe has to be custom made.

I would love to see a readily available H-pipe system for F-bodies. Can't wait to see it when they're ready.
