Default EGR Questions with PICS

I have a few questions about my egr system on my 2000 TA. Mods in the signature. I am trying to delete my egr system and i came across in the component by the brake booster. Can anyone i identify this part for me? What the **** is it and what does it do? It pulls good vacuum and im trying to figure out what to do with vacuum line when i delete it. Also who makes good block off plates for the egr with mac mid lengths? Thanks!

thats not egr, that is your AIR Injection system, it is used to ignite the cats faster on a cold start up. YOu can tear all of that stuff out and where the vacuum comes from, just cap it off.

+1 if i remmebr right the bracket that holds it on was a bitch but the small hose that reamins i just found a screw a tad bit bigger , threw some rtv silicon gasket maker around the threads and screwed it into the line . i think the other end of it connest to the sensor that the small hose on the back of the intake goes to .
