Default I am mad at myself...

...for not putting a ported throttle body on until now!!! Holy crap... And just think, I waited until I had full exhaust, LS6 intake, cam, and 4.10 gears to do it too. I knew something was up when I pulled out of my drive way and it spun in 1st and 2nd under my normal foot. I cant believe the difference in throttle response. Why did I wait to do this again? Oh yeah, its my only car and I was too afraid to hog out my own TB. I just happened to see one in the for sale section for a decent price and I got it. Its a New Era TB. I got it from SiC-LS1. Thanks dude!

Maybe I'll try it on my old one now. I do work at the land of tools, a little place I like to call Harbor Freight! Maybe I'll have to bring home a $5 die grinder and go to work, lol.

Man, with my mods it probably did. Its supposed to be the first thing you do. Your mods are probably similar to mine, so yes, it feels like I just put a cam in it all over again.

other than the gears were pretty close...some people say it will make a big difference and then others say its not gonna do jack and that its a complete waste of money

Response yes but real world gains no. I took mine to the track with a TB and pulley and got the same slip. Actually it was a tick slower but I did add SFC's. IMO the 6 HP claim people see on the dyno = zero gain at the track.

I havent dynod my car, but I know it had to make power. Of course, it could be that I was running rich before and the TB just made my car use more of that fuel... but it FEELS STRONGER. Like "from manifolds to LTs" stronger. But remember: We're talking about the effects of a P&P TB on a car with a cam/gears/4" exhaust, etc.

Well yay for me. Huge difference! If you are going to go to a 90mm then check out the Edelbrock. They are super cheap and can be had at your local Advance Auto Parts. Try to get 20% off on the last day of the month... usually they'll bite!

Exactly my experience. But as Kurt is saying, the difference in throttle response is amazing and well-worth it for that reason alone, IMO.

I totally disagree. Even on a stock car, the throttle RESPONSE is much improved. And no, you won't feel 5hp, which is what a stock car with a lid will usually pick up. But seeing as he did this at the END of the his bolt-ons and not first, I bet he did free up a good amount of restriction. He has the cam, exhaust, headers and intake manifold to help flow but it was being corked at the source of the incoming air. Manufacturers of bolt-on parts always say from 10-15hp or 14-20hp because its only relative to the amount of other bolts-ons you have. You never combine the amount of hp the bolt-ons 'should do'. I've seen LS6 intakes only add 12rwhp and I have seen them add 22. Again, it's all relative to what you have done combined. I wouldn't doubt if he picked up 10rwhp or more actually after it freed up his combo and maybe leaned it out a little.

...then again. My cousin swears his car always feels faster after an oil change, lmao! I'm glad you like it man!

Let's see an improvement on the slip and I will agree.

No slip to compare I have always been afraid of my 10 bolt coming to pieces from the way everyone talks around here. I'm waiting on the funds to put a 9 inch in it before it hits the track... plus my stock rear is spitting spyder gear teeth left and right and cracking like a locker.

your 10 bolt is going to go to break if you are on the track running it alot launching and all that crap that hard off course it going to break its not made for that, but if you driving around everday maybe a street race here and there you will be fine.

Great mod for the money, the throttle response was greatly improved and vary noticeble for me. I chirp the tires in my A4 since installing it. I threw it on after all my other mods and a tune, and it seemed to complete my setup.

Mine seems to be the inbetween diy and aftermarket... you can send your stocker off to New Era for $75 and have them do it Or you can come by my store and purchase a $14 die grinder kit and DIY. Go Harbor Freight
