Another broken oil sending unit!!!
Well, like the title says I broke mine today, guess I join the club LOL. I took the intake off to replace the Knock sensors and harness and had everything assembled and starting the car, but my luck NO OIL PRESSURE
Oh well I think the next time I have to remove the Intake, i'm just gonna set myself on fire and run through a meth lab

I removed my stock intake and installed the LS6 without breaking it.
Then I realized I had forgot to put the rear 4 bolts in first. So I pulled the LS6 back out - and broke the sending unit. Damn!!

The vacuum line that runs from the brake booster and plugs into the back of the intake. the Oil pressure sending unit is about three inches tall, and plastic, the vacuum line usually snags it when you pull the intake forward

Alright, so I pullled the intake again and replaced the sending unit. I think either PCV hose or the vacuum line may have caught it, so I took the time and routed the PCV hose and the vacuum line the one with that is the elbow up and over high enough to where it would be out of the way going back in and if I ever need to pull it back apart (yea right) and I fired my car up and...hold your breath WE HAVE OIL PRESSURE! Man what a PITA!!!
I'm hitting the sack been a long day.
Thanks,
Jason

To prevent it from breaking the sender, disconnect the vacuum line from the brake booster, lift the back of the intake so the hose and it's connection comes up over the sender. Do the same during assembly, raise the back up high and get the hose over the sender, then set it down.

Its from pulling the intake straight out.

It is simple and only takes 5 seconds. Or just delete your power brakes.

late on the advice but if you put the opsu socket over the sending unit before you take it off, that hekps most of the time. broke mine too, someone in gm was having a bad day when they designed this part of the motor.

x2. This is the correct way to do it, just run your hand down the vacuum booster hose to the intake and you'll feel right where is comes very close to sending unit. Had mine off twice now, and no broken oil sending unit.
