Bracket Car Build Update
I spoke with my builder (MC Racing in Kansas City) yesterday and the shortblock should be back next week and ready to install by the end of next week. The car will never see the street just the track. I plan on racing the car next year in the footbrake series at Heartland Park in Topeka, Kansas. We will be track testing the car in March and it should be ready for the start of the race season in April. I never imagined I would break my budget, but I have never had so much fun spending money. I just developed pictures (I need a digital camera) and will be posting pictures soon. My plan is to post pictures on a weekly basis along with supporting dyno graphs and time slips. I would appreciate any thoughts on my build. When the build is complete, I will post the detailed budget in case any member would be interested in building a similiar purpose built track car.
Thanks,

Looks like a killer list. If it was me though I would use a slightly smaller cam and Strange shocks over the QA1's. With that cam you're really gonna have to wing the 347 up to get the most out of it. Something with 8-10 degrees less duration would keep the shift points at a more reasonable RPM. Most suspension gurus on this site have rated the Strange shocks above the QA1's, but recommend Afco or Santuff if you can fit them in your budget.

I spoke with the builder yesterday and they are checking PTV to determine how much we can mill the heads. Due to the size of the cam, we will be running a significant amount of compression (12.5 - 13.0) and 110 octane race gas. As I have stated before, this is only a track car and we are building for max effort. I should have additional pictures next week and the cage install begins after the first of the year.

X2 on the LW K-Member. It sounds like a strong set up. I think your goal is achievable once you get the right converter, tune and gearing.
Definitely do an OLSD tune for consistency.
I would also consider a converter builder that will allow you at least one free restall. It's tough to get the TC selected dead on the first time, especially with an entirely new set up. Circle D has built me several for various projects and has hit the mark very close everytime, but I have provided very accurate info. You won't have real accurate info initially so chose your TC builder wisely.

I spoke with the builder this week and the motor will be installed on Monday. I plan to watch and take some pictures. Hopefully we will fire the motor and will post some pictures next week.
Also, K-member as already been installed, I forgot to mention in the original post.

Update on Engine Build
The shortblock finally came back on Wednesday and should go in the car today. Compression ratio was 11.88, we milled the trick flow heads .006 and decked the block. I was hoping to have 12/1 CR but we would have to take too much material off the heads and would start having problems with alignment. The motor should come to life today and I finally have a digital camera and will post pictures of the car tonight.
