Default What is the average price for machine work?

i have an ls1 that has low compression in two cylinder's and was wondering how much the average price to have it machined and cleared for a 383 stroker is. Help would be greatly appreciated.

I just did a 6.0 iron block build cost me about 800 for the block prep, block bored .030, bottom end balanced, cam bearings installed. I also had my L 92's milled .025 thousands. They put my pistons and rods together and filed my rings (that stuff I would have done myself, but he took it upon himself to do for me, and charged me for it). I had them do some other stuff like press a different pulley on my water pump. That price was just the machine work, I assembled the rest myself.

The link above gives a fair rule of thumb depending on what you want ~ $500 to $700
