Ls7 cam

The LS7 cam is also not optimized for LS1 motors, so I would not recommend it. Upgraded springs would be needed, as lift on 1.7 rockers will be .558" - LS7 springs would be suitable and cheap.

Also the LS7 cams are designed to optimise the breathing of the LS7/LS3/L92 heads. Not the best choice for an LS1. '02 LS6 or GMPP Hot Cam are better choices for your intended purpose. Still need to switch out springs to LS6 yellows or better for best results.
I hate to say it, but you may even find more performance with a stock sound and idle hitting up PatG or some of the other sponsors here for a custom grind.

Launching!
I agree with the other guys, there are many good cams that you can choose from that are not too lopey and that are really great DD's. If you want to stay close to stock and keep the idle down, go with a low 220'ish cam and don't go crazy with LSA. lol

Its too bad the ls7 cam won't work. I always thought it would be a good turbo cam, i'm pretty sure its .59x lift with 1.8 rockers, and the low(er) duration is good for boost along with 120lsa
