5.7 crank or 6.0 crank in a stock shortblock??
Which would be the better or the 2 cranks to use in a stock shortblock? I know they are the same other then the way they are balanced just wasnt sure if one would be the better choice to use.. Thanks for any info

its a couple of hudred grams, aand thats alote, but if you are putting it into intoa a 347 when you have it balanced, they take off that extra weight. but that would cost $200 dollars. if you put it back together, with a 5.7l crank there would be no balanceing required. so you save yourself some money

From what i have heard the truck cranks balance out better because they have more weight to deal with. I have heard some people the car cranks was too llight for the bob weight of the rods and pistons that were used.
I have a nice car 5.7 crank in NE ohio if you need one.

yeah i don't think gm balance's every engine. i think all the parts fall in the same weight range. but yeah a 6.0 is prob diff than a 5.7 balance just due to piston size. i think rod lengths are the same
now won't the ls2 6.0l crank have a diff relucter wheel on it? i don't know but it seems like i read that somewhere

Looks like from what I have been reading it may be better to use the 6.0 crank because it has alittle more weight its easier to balance... Its easier to take weight out then to add weight because of the reluctor wheel..
