Default Ring Gaps

So as my first build up on my motor my buddy is letting me do pretty much everything but I happened to F* up 2 top compression rings by .001". Bottom ones are really easy top however require a bit more grinding. Anywho...Anyone know if a vendor sells piston rings separate other than a whole set for a 99 ls1 standard bore 3.897+.005 1.5mm 1.5mm 3.0mm Thanks

I'm assuming you are talking about the end gaps, .001" too big isn't that big a deal, but if you can afford it, buy some new ones.

yeah, .001 is not a big deal. That could be the difference between say a tight .024 and a loose .024. On another note, if it happens again, you can always try and find a cylinder that is a little smaller, which will change the gap.
