Default Heads/Cam for Stock LS1 Exhaust?

I'm NOT looking for huge cam drag car and lumpy idle. And want to retain low rpm torque (cruise in 6th a lot) and good gas mileage. Plus I want a quiet car so long tubes and cat back are not planned. Adding 60 rwhp or so is all I'm expecting, but more is better.

Here's what I'm looking at right now.
1. Ported LS6 heads with 2002+ Z06 cam + LS6 intake
2. Ported LS6 heads with Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam + LS6 intake

Questions
1. Will ported LS6 heads make any diff over non ported since I'm keeping stock exhaust?
2. Which cam, LS6 or GT2-3?
2. Better suggestion for a cam that still meets my requirements?

Thanks,

Jim

That package is gonna cost more than the LS6 head set up but it will put you close to 400 rwhp with a stock like idle.

The TR package is very nice.

I would prob recommend the CheaTR LS2 cam with a little more lift and some patriot LS6 style heads usually go for around $1200

As for the stock exhaust at least throw and electric cutout on there

any of those you listed will work great! I've been thinking of going ported 241s and z06 cam on my next project DD

Yes ported heads will still make more power w/ stock manifolds.

I know you said no headers, but you would benefit greatly from LTs. I like the sound of stock catback and lts, which I have run before...trust me, its stock quiet, and close to stock even at WOT
