Piston Rings for oil consumption?
Just curious what piston rings you guys would recommend for freshening up this LS6.
My current LS1 consumes quite a bit of oil when i drive it hard, and i would like to eliminate the possibility of that happening with my new engine..
I'm about to go through an LS6 engine i have, I'm going to hone and re-ring it, and add a few other goodies...
After much research i came across this article, basically adressing the issue of oil consumption due to "ring flutter" under higher rpms, and the fix being this updated ring...
---> http://www.idavette.net/hib/02ls6/page5.htm<---
(Scroll halfway down and there is a picture of the standard and updated ring profile.)
Anyone have a part number or can point me in the right direction for these updated rings with a "napier profile face". ?
Should i just order some hastings or aftermaket rings and say screw it, oh well if this one burns oil too?
Thanks in advance.
