Default gains from ported and polish heads

im currently fixing a head gasket. does anyone know what kind of gains i could expect if i got my heads ported and polished?

how much would the p and p be?

on stock heads or what? a good p&p, valve job, milling, etc is around $500

Yeah, that depends on what you have done, and who does it. Like the man says, you get what you pay for. You can spend up to 1500 for all that, but its relative. Don't go letting some dumb honkey mutilate your heads just because he has a die grinder and will do it for a bill.

that's kindda like asking what kind of power you'd get from "a cam". not any particular cam..just "a cam"...

extent of the porting, quality, runner size...all play a part.

you could lose power with a poor port job, or gain 30hp.
