A double timing chain is not nessecary, just for piece of mind and depends how much your willing to spend. I'm running a single on mine.
I'm also running the 918 springs with my TR230 cam, but if I ever get heads, I might cinsider the crane double springs. I've heard good things about them so far

if you can spring (no pun intended ) for the doubles then why not get them. same with the double timing chain. piece of mind is worth a few extra dollars. with that said i was running rev duals but im switching to manley singles.
