better times with new cam but not what I expected
Finally got back to the track today to get some runs in. The last time I went to the track, I ran consistent 12.8s @ 110, 1.9 60s with these mods: LTs, LS6 intake, SLP lid, DRs, 3.73s & UMI tunnel brace mounted TA. Since then I installed a TSP 228 cam, 114 LSA .588 lift int. & exh., & had the car dynotuned. I was expecting to run somewhere in the low 12s but mostly ran 12.6s with a best 12.55 @ 111 mph w/ a 1.8 60 time. Temperature was 75-80 deg, Density altitude was 2107 ft. It was much warmer than last time so that may be a factor, but something just doesnt seem right. Looking at my times, I am only picking up 20 mph in the back half(1/8 mile) I was only picking up 20 mph with the stock cam too. I remember someone saying a stock cam car should pick up somewhere between 22-24 mph there. The car was hooking pretty good, just seems like my traps shouldve been much higher too. The car feels like it pulls pretty hard, not sure what could be wrong other than maybe the cam needs to be degreed. I had real low cylinder leakdown when I changed valvesprings, under 5% on each cylinder. My car was #217.

I am thinking a cutout would eliminate that theory. Then again it could still be the cam needs degreed too. I didnt pick up much really in the front half either, just .2 & 1 mph. Thats with 1.8 60s instead of 1.9s
Just had a tune done. My first baseline run with 2 deg timing added was 349 hp. When done, I was puttin down 378-9 hp with a 380 pull.

My t/a on the other hand with bolt-ons and stock cam traps 86-87 in the 1/8th and 110 in the 1/4 thats a 23-24 mph gain on the back half .
