Default 5.3 build ?'s

Im building up a 5.3 to put in my bird, but I dont wana change converter's yet, So what are good cams to go with, I have 4.10's and a a4 car.

I'm thinking a gm hot cam or asa cam the car is a DD with some strip time.

When i talked to scoggin dickey about the asa cam they said it was a pretty big cam for a 5.3l so i dont think that work, plus the lowest conveter i have seen in a car with the asa is a 3600. Id go with the hotcam

There was an article in Car Craft where they did the ***** Thumpr cam in a carbed 5.3 and made 96hp cam only (engine dyno) and it has a nasty lope. If you want all out performance, however, have either Pat G or Predator-Z spec you a cam.

er.... wait, I didn't read the stock converter part. I wouldn't run anything much larger than a 220 on a stock converter, and that's pushing it

hotcam is alright but not what i would get... the ASA cam will work its just like you said big... a thunder racing 224 cam would be a good one (224/224 .563/.563 i believe)
