Default White smoke from driverside header only?

Could I have a blown hg even though there is white smoke coming from only the driverside header?

How do you know thats its only coming from the driver side? Are you running open headers or something? Either way white smoke is a good sign of burning coolant, and you usually don't blow both gaskets at the same time. But I would replace them both if thats you problem.

yes, I am running open headers. if I had a blown hg would there be whitesmoke immediately from a cold engine or only once it is warmed up? there doesn't seem to be smoke until it is warm. I did wrap the headers and believe there is brake fluid on the driverside so it could be that...... ;(

if u were burning coolant u would have white smoke from the time u turned the car on to the time u turned it off.

Well that does make me feel better. Hopefully it's just the header wrap soaked in brake fluid....... lesser of two evils I suppose.

Is it coming off the header or out of the header?

It appears to be coming from around the header although there did seem to be a little coming out of the header. I'm going to take the wrap off and thoroughly clean around the area to verify.

Good news. Header wrap was doused in brake fluid. Took the wrap off and no more white smoke Gonna be a bitch though to wrap it again while on the car Thanks to everyone for the advice.

good thing you figured that out. otherwise you would of removed the heads and would have to adjust all the valvetrain ..... all for nothing.
