the reason is getting a 418 ci 4.100 4.030 +5 dome with 72cc chamber heads down in compression for 94 oct tune without changing the pistons. as far down from 12.1:1 compression goal
with part # and place to buy if possible
only saw .054 at sdpc
thanks in advance ^_^

don`t know that still didn`t get the build sheet from the owner but the block has been installed for now on my stock 98 heads and 224 cam with more than 12.3:1 compression on the old tone .... just revved it and starter it it all looks good .... I`ll send the guy a message saying I want the build sheet ^_^ thanks for reminding me .... any specific reason you`re asking?

this is just the shortblock of an engine that had aftermarket heads fast intake and a big cam with +12.0:1 compression and was run on high octane fuel for street racing N/A only by the previous owner .... it did quit well for N/A in the past years but barely used

I just don't like the idea of throwing the thickest head gasket on, for 1 it doesn't affect compression ratio, much, 2. loose the quench 3. you're making up for another issue, whether it be compression ratio or dome clearance
if it has 5cc Dome pistons, compression will be high no matter what you do.
Personally just run .040" quench distance ( with steel rods ), messing around with the head gasket will only lead to other issues.

do you have a solution to the high compression other than changing the pistons?(don`t want to do that)
I want PRC heads but they only come at 72cc .. do you know a place that can open the chamber to 80-85cc to use thinner gaskets and lower my compression? I e-mailed a sponsor here many days ago and still they didn`t reply .... and I lost hope with them lol
I have maybe a few days or about a week before I order and 72cc heads with .065 or thicker head gaskets is the best solution I came up with .... except if the company that I`m buying the heads from can offer a good price for opening the chamber at another place ^_^
