Default so It Happened....

her is the thread about metal chunks...

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...-shavings.html

the T/A went BOOM. guess those metal chunks where indeed a rod bearing, I was driving home from Tampa on Alligator Alley (one of the deadliest roads in the US) cruising at 75mph jamming out and BAM! thought I blew a tire it was so violent, dropped it into neutral and shut it off and coasted to the side.

alligator alley is exactly what it sounds like..its the main road from the West to East coast of FL down south and is the Capital of BFE...literally NOTHING for 50 miles, except gators, and mosquitos the size of birds...and NO LIGHT.

so I looked in the road for oil...nothing, none under the car, started the car on the side of the road, had 40+ psi oil pressure, loud knocking, called a flat bed...3 hours later it got there and I got home at 3am.

for ***** and giggles the next day I tried starting it and it sounded like a gun shot...rod def had to break then for sure, and it won't start or turn over...

so this means BIGGER, BETTER, and Faster

good question...this wasn't totally unexpected so I have been researching some options ahead of time. I may just go with a forged 347 if the block and crank are okay and then just a "bit" of nitrous on top.

if the crank/block are toast I plan on building a 364ci 9.5:1 CR and a whirly thing.

It was for the best. Now you can do what ever you want if you have the money besides after you build it you can tell people its stock.
