Default L33 to Z06 Cam Swap

Any reason why a 2001 LS2 Cam could not be used in a 2005 L33 "B" Code engine? I'm swaping the engine into a car and plan to go to the 2001 LS2 Z06 Cam.

Thanks!

2001 Z06 cam would be called LS6, not LS2.

Besides that, I'm not sure if that cam would fit in the L33, but I think it will.

Someone will confirm this for you.

What I should have said was that the guy who sold it to me told me it came from a 2007 Trailblazer SS LS2 with Cam Specs of 204/211 .525 .525 116.5 LSA.

As I understand it this is the same as the 2001 Z06. My concern, now that I own it, is that it is out of a 2007 and I had read on another thread something about the cams LSx cam changing after 2005.

My L33 is a 2005 engine.

Thanks!

not sure if it would work but my question is why? if you have another motor why not put a bigger cam in it? i think its a waste of time putting a stock cam in

I'm putting a L33 from a Chevy Silverado into a Miata. Don't need the torque of this cam. I need a cam that will run with corvettes..

and I only paid $80 for this cam..so not a real waste of money.

So I just need to know if this cam will work in my L33. Not sure what a Dual Ramp wheel is.

Well I think I found my answer in this thread:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...e-ls1-ecm.html

Appears I have a cam that I can possibly use assuming I can get the 1x timing gear and the LS2 timing cover. But I am not sure if I can get a 1x timing cover with a 1 the single bolt hole instead the three bolt pattern.

Any ideas?

I don't think they make a 1X timing gear for the single bolt cams.

Does your L33 have a rear cam sensor? 3 bolt cam?

i thought the l33 was a gen 4 motor?????if so the cam should be a direct drop in....and im pretty sure the ls2 cam is similar to an early ls1 with .500 lift???????????????????????????????
