Default 160k mile crank, would you use it?

Got a 5.3 with 160k miles. Pulled it all apart and all looked really good. Crank would just need to be polished and was going to have my machine shop go through the whole engine.

I am going to build a 600-700rwhp turbo setup and now that I am thinking about it, I don't think I wanna chance it using rods, pistons or crank with that many miles on them. I was thinking about getting forged pistons and rods, but even then, reusing the crank scares me because of metal fatigue.

I spent $250, so if it's not worth using, I wanna know now before I drop a bunch of money into it.

I would like to hear some opinions.

If you have the money, I would say get a new one. Its alot cheaper than having to start from scratch when something breaks.

I'd say have all the proper measurement for wear done on the block before deciding whether or not to replace it.

Dont worry about (but even then, reusing the crank scares me because of metal fatigue.) in the crank or block. only if the old motor was raced think about that.

cranks are usually the longest lasting part of any engine so if it were me I wouldnt be too concerned, I have beat the **** out of plenty of high mileage cranks with no issues. Besides how many stock crank failures do you see? Me personally havent seen any (under normal circumstance), but I dont build racecars either so I wouldnt see it as much as a motor builder or racer would.
