6.0L Iron block. Hard fill questions.
I'm looking to hard fill my 6.0L Iron block. How high can you go with them and still be ok for short drives? Also, do the blocks need a re-bore once it settles or will it not distort the walls?

Mine is "1/2 filled". That is, up to the bottom of the water pump port. I think the water pump port is 2" below the deck surface, and the water jacket is 4 1/4"-4 1/2" deep so mine is actually just a bit over "1/2" filled. Once I got the air pocket out of the block it gets up to 200° and stays there around town. I have not had it on the interstate yet nor have I gone WOT, but i don't forsee any cooling problems since I am not doing extended top speed or road racing stuff, and the vast majority of heat is produced is in the top of the cylinder near the combustion chamber.
I do not know if the hard blok will distort the cylinders, but if you plan on machine work, do the hard blok first and let it cure for 48 hours. Then machine away! I punched mine to 4.07"

Thanks for the input! The block goes in thursday. The sad part is its all machined and everything. I'm just trying this out to see if it will help me keep the heads down a pinch more.
