Default which 02 sensors for leaded gas?

just wondering with all the talk lately of race gas on higher compression nitrous motors. i know stock sensors will fry with leaded gas like Cam2. FMS and others have been using fuels up to c16 on sensors motors. which do you all use? do you have to change them out frequently? i thought the leaded deposits destroy the sensors. TIA!

well....one way is to go to AutoZone (I think that’s the one) and buy their O2 sensors as they come with a lifetime warranty.....then just swap them out every few months "um.....these seem to be damaged....."

Now that's uncool (returning dead sensors) and they can usually tell by the color and you'd either get arrested or kicked in the posterior for trying this.

I have not heard of lead-safe O2's.

Who is FMS and what is c16?
Have you asked them?

I believe we need PSJ to chime in here. I recall him asking jmx or someone which ones tolererate lead! I have used, sparingly, my stock ones and they have survived. Not to think they arent being damaged, they are, so far so good.

You need the Denso o2s. They are lead proof. THe Supra and GnT-Type guys are runing them with much success.

Hope your cats are gutted or missing as the lead will destroy them.

Denso are a drop in replacement. They have a design, and a coating which makes them lead proof,

GM sold Non-Smog F-bodies to overseas countries. These cars burned Leaded fuel. So, no Cats, Egr, Air, etc. One member on the other site lived in Kuwait and had one of these. Maybe he (Abdull) could shed some light.

I'm told that wideband O2 sensors are more resilient to lead than the stock O2s. I hope so, I didn't have much luck at all the one time I tried running leaded with regular O2s.

The overseas thing is interesting.

Denso o2's are not lead proof but they do last at least 3 times longer before they foul.

Middle east cars usually dont have O2 sensors. They run open loop.
