Looking for a cam but there is too much variety
I have a 02 ws6 with a ls1 that is a weekend street driver, and occasionaly track driver. I don't drive it daily... it's got most of the bolt ons (long tube headers, no cats, lid and baffle, subframe connectors, strut bar, etc
I'm having trouble picking out a cam right for my car cause there is so many available. I had picked out a crane cam (duration at .050" lift... intake .228 exhaust .232.. advance duration intake .290 exhaust .294... total valve lift on both valves .600") but they went out of business.
I've looked around for a cam similar to these specs but not sure what kind and make to get...
I have a 3.42 final drive with a t56 trans and what I want is strong mid range with a violent top end without setting the rev limiter higher than stock. I don't plan on any power adders or nitrous.
I thought about getting heads and lifters and all that stuff as well but don't have the doe. So I will settle for just a cam (and valve springs)
Please give me some input on what kind of cam to choose. thanx
