Default bout to pick up an 03 zo6, put cam i had for camaro in or no???

well i think im about to sell my 99 z28 m6 and pick up an 03 zo6 and i have a good bit of parts laying around for my z28. well i wanted to know if it would be a good idea to keep the parts and put them in the zo6 or sell the parts.

ive got a cam kit from thunder racing, the cam is there Trex cam with prc extreme springs and etc. also have a spec3+ clutch too would that work in the vette? what about the cam as i know weight and gearing play a big roll in cam selection?? also i have a tick remote bleeder for my camaro, would that work on the vette also?

In a similar situation myself. Thinking about trading/selling the TA for a c5z or c6. I personally wouldnt fire a t-rex, ms4, etc into a vette. When I get mine, it will be cammed with something more stealthy to pick up nice power but keep the smooth sound.

Well one thing's for sure - it's not going to perform worse in the C5Z than the cam would in your f-bod so DO IT! In fact don't people recommend gears in an F-bod to keep that type of cam in it's powerband? The MN12 tranny in the C5Z is geared better than the M6 which would actually benefit a higher revving cam. I think someone compared the C5Z to having 3.90's in your F-bod instead of the 3.42's. Not sure about the interchangeability of the other stuff.

if you want a big cam in your vette, go for it.

How many miles you have on the springs? If you have more than 10k it doesnt really seem worth reusing them and springs are fairly cheap.

Clutch is kind of the same as the springs. How many miles are on it? To change a clutch on a c5 you start at the back of the car and work your say forward. Take out the rear, trans, torque tube and then clutch. Its not like fbodys where you just drop the trans. Just alot of work for a used part imo.

I believe the bleeder should work also.

all of the parts are brand new. i bought it all with the intent to put them in the z28 but never got around to it.

so i figured i would throw them in the vette when it arrives. only thing is i dont now if i will have to fly cut the pistons to clear such a big cam and if the cam can be tuned well enough to be ran in my DD....

A tuner should be able to make it run just fine for daily driving. I believe that cam was made to work without fly cutting long as there is no milling to the heads. Do some searches on here about it. Odds are you arent the first guy to put a t-rex into a zo6 and of course call thunder. I bet they can tell you.
