Default K1 Technologies/Carillo 4" 4340 Stroker Cranks

Anyone running one of these? I haven't came across anyone yet, and these cranks are reasonably priced like the Eagle's pricing. I read where a couple years ago the crankshaft was designed on a a4 setup, and a 6 speed guy had problems with fitment to the pilot/input shaft. K1 said they were to correct it.

# 4340 forged steel
# Core hardened
# Nitrided
# Mag-Particle Inspected
# Straight oil holes for best rod journal lubrication
# Stock LS1 main journal size of 2.559 in.
# Rod journal diameter is 2.100 in.
# 6 bolt LS1 rear flange

K1 is no longer associated with Carillo.

I had one for a while, but I sold it. There are quite a few threads on K1 pieces with many good things to say if you search for them.

In the August '09 issue of GM High Tech Performance they use a K1 crank ($780) and rods ($520) for their 408 build. They say that K1 is somehow partnered with Wiseco.

well I searched but couldn't find much, especially with "K1" not being a long enough word to search by.

K1, Wiseco, JE, and some other engine parts company are all owned by one large conglomerate. Brian Nutter has mentioned it a few times. I found it suprising.

They have been out a while and they are also owned by Dover as is JE and Wiseco. They seem to be pretty nice now and the last few we used were good cranks. Their rods are also nice as well. Initially they had some issues with balancing at heavier bobweights like all LS1 stuff but they corrected that on all the ones I have used in the last year so I think that is solved now. We sell Eagle, Callies, K1, Lunati, SCAT and others and they all work it just depends on what you are doing with them.
