Oil level is low on new engine?

Oil level is low on new engine? Had the first start up/heat cycle and everything seems normal, but when I checked the oil level today it is almost 1 quart low. Is this normal for a new engine? Also, how many heat cycles are too many for a new engine?....still on stands trying to get clutch bled....Thanks for the help.

How many quarts did you put in it? It should take about 6. When you fill the motor and then start it the empty oilfilter gets filled....maybe that's why its reading low now

Put 5.5 quarts and the dip stick level is on the add line. I did use a tall filter and filled/primed it before I installed it..... that is probably where some of the missing oil is ending up.
