Default help on head gasket thickness

Here is the deal I have recently built a forged 346, has JE pistons, crower rods, MS3 cam 237/242 .603/.609 on a 113lsa, and PRC 2.5 5.3L heads. This motor will see some spray, probably 200 or so. My question is the LS1 block the piston already sticks it heads out of the hole .007 or so. After machine work the block was milled and machine shop said its now about .015. He informed me to go with a .060 head gasket to give a .045 quench. Does this seem right, I'm no expert just need some advice. Engine is ready to go in, has stock head/cam combo LS1 in it now thats on its way out. Also still trying to decide on intake for this combo, I like the fast but wanna do something different but when you start getting into larger intakes like sheetmetal or victors on a stock cube that will only see 6500 then you sacrifice low end. Is there an intake that would be suggested other than fast that would benefit this combo??

Thnks in advance for replies!!!

Sounds right on the headgasket, stock is .051" so the .060 should get you where you want to be.

What kind of car is the motor going in? I'm running the Edelbrock Proflo xt in my 04 GTO, but had to cut the hood to clear. An F-body would need to cut the cowl
