Rods out of round? Pics
I spun a couple of rod bearings. I used a crude dial bore gauge to test for inner rod roundness and all 8 rods passed with flying colors. The method I used seems pretty fool proof but I don't know. I was told a sign of out-of-roundness would be discoloration. A couple of the rods have minor marks on the insides, however strangely enough, the marks don't always correspond to the spun bearings. Some of marked rods didn't spin a bearing and one rod that did spin a bearing isn't marked. Anyway take a look for yourselves. Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance

Not sure what you used to measure, but out of round tolerances are measured in thousandths of inches, If the bearing spun in the rod Then I would absolutely take it to a machine shop and have it checked out. Not worth the risk bro. IF it is junk dont try to have it resized, the factory powdered metal rods can not be re-sized according to the MASS opinion there will be someone to try and argue this. But dont do it.
