Default water temp issues? possibly

so here is my setup...
04 ls1 from a goat..

Water temp sensor located on head.

Stock water pump and stock thermostat

Aftermarket griffin 3 row radiator
2 1500 cfm fans.

this is a track vehicle only.
After about 5 runs.. the water temp stays consistently at 200-205

After the last run it peaked out a little over 210.. parked it, left the fans on and it cooled down quick...

Right now it doesnt seem to want to stay at a decent temp..

Any suggesstions? the motor stays above 4k at all times when on track.

160 t-stat or just go with a hi-flow pump.. thanks

Those are actually 100% normal operating temps for a stock t-stat stock waterpump LS1.

However, obviously you want to run it a little cooler. What temperature do you have your fans set to come on at?? Ideally you want a 180 degree t-stat, with the fans set for about 180-185 degrees. That will give you your desired operating temps.

are e-fans are set up on a switch always on after 180, when t-stat opens.. we had it in traffic trying to stage for 1 hour at a show, and temps never rose past 180-182

so what temp have you guys seen the ls's go to before there becomes serious issues with warping the motor..

so any suggestions? other than the electric pump?
maybe a 180 tstat that is high flow?

I would try 160* stat and program fans at 175* and see how that does first. A lot cheaper than dropping money on Evans, Edelbrock or Mezziere pump. BTW I say 175* because all thre 160* stats I tested on the stove never fully opened till about 170*. I have a Howe racing dual core radiator and mine never sees over 185* on hotass days in town with the A/C rocking and fans set at 180*....
