Default h\c swap WAS goin so good....

I started my h\c swap today and everything was going good until I started to remove the intake manifold...while removing it, I heard some plastic hit the floor. After getting the intake manifold off, I looked on the ground and found this plastic piece (1st pic). Is this the oil pressure sending unit? If not then wat is it, and wats the best way to replace it? Particularly the broken part thats still in the block. (last pic) Thanks in advance.

get a socket to fit that and remove the in block part. go to autozone and get a new oil pressure sending sensor. replace it. done

sucks d/ck when one of them breaks, makes a hassle. lol. mine did. their fragile. you can buy a relocation kit for it to go in the side of the block right above the alt. if you feel like it.

Yep, thats the oil pressure sending unit. You have to be extremely careful when removing the intake on a LS1 otherwise you will break it. Lots of people have done it, just have to be really careful. Any GM dealer should have it in stock. Just get the GM one... thats your best bet for trouble free in the future. Just put a socket on it or an open end to break it loose. It will thread out.

Wow! you were putting down 351/350 through a stalled auto with no cam or heads prior? Happy dyno or a factor freak.
