5.3 cutoff point I am new to the world of LS engines coming from years working on old small blocks, and am searching for some info on 5.3s so I know what I want when I seek my used engine. 
I have used the search feature and haven't found what I'm looking for.
What year and up 5.3 do I want? I have heard that at some point the 5.3 was treated to some upgrades at the factory, such as the LS2 oil pump and LS7 lifters. I'm looking to find a low mile used engine that is ready for a mild performance cam without me having to upgrade the lifters.
Am going to go with a Guerra Motorsports custom grind, and will get his recommended springs and whatever else I need.
Any help from you guys would be very much appreciated!!!!!!
