ok just purchased a set of 799 heads off of the classifieds, i would like to know what head gaskets you guys are running and also how thin can i go? i would kinda like to be able to pick up a wee bit of compression if i can't get them milled.

the smallest summit carries is a .045 set of trick flow MLS gaskets for $72. i'm still searching around though.

ok jegs has a set of cometic .027 gaskets for $90. that seems kinda steep though. but is that too thin?

Yes that is too thin for street. The .045 gasket or .040 would be better

ok kool, you by chance have any idea what comp. ratio a .040 gasket would give me with untouched 799's?
