Default Thumbs Up To Texas Speed For Their 233/239 596/605 Cam

I got the new cam installed about two weeks ago and just picked the car up from the tuner over the weekend. My car is an A4 (details in signature) and I got my cam on a 112. The performance is great and sounds even better. The car shreds the tires all the way into 3rd gear. All around the car pulls hard from low to high RPMs and is a blast to drive.

Thanks for another great performance part!!! Almost all of my parts have come from Texas Speed and couldn't be happier with the parts and service.

Bill

What is not to love about tire shredding power on demand

No dyno numbers or track times yet but will update as they come in. Either way, the car is a blast to drive. The only thing that sucks is I know it is only a matter of time before my rearend goes, LOL.

By the way Matt, how popular is this cam?

Thanks Again,

Bill

I see that it's a 596/605. Did you have to do any flycutting?

Define Smooth..... Mine is a little rough because of my setup. Once it is warmed up it is very smooth, with a nice lope.

Cold start is still a work in progress. It only takes a few mins to get comfy. Sick sounding cam.

Later.

My Lingenfelter shortblock came with forged pistons and they had -4cc reliefs already cut into them.

This cam may fit without flycutting anyway. I also milled my heads and still fit fine.

Thanks.

It has a very nice lope to it...... Sounds great when it is all the way warmed up. Especially since it is running through long tubes with uncatted Y-pipe.

I had this cam in my SS a few years ago. Sounds incredible and made great power. I was tossing around the idea of going with it again but on a 113 lsa this time in my V. I can attest to this cam running very strong.

You got it tuned w/o a dyno run? Doesn't part of a good tune mean that it was also dyno'd? Know what I mean? Especially on a fairly big cam?

In my opinion, street tuning is the only way to go. You can get part throttle tuning along with light throttle and WOT.

Max lift has nothing to do with PTV clearance.

That Vigalante 4000 isn't cutting your tires much slack anyway. Now you gotta work on getting it to hook up!
