Default flycutting new shortblock

well i seized my motor on sunday and bought a shortblock for it on monday. The short block is almost brand new less than 500 miles and the bearings definately show that. It has new bearings, crank was polished, arp 2000 rod bolts and the mains are studded and this is all in 99 block. I had tsp 228r cam in my other motor so now i got to thinking why not fly cut the pistons and run the cam that i wanted to, an ms4. I couldnt run it before because i have patriot ls6 59cc heads. The only thing is i was planning on spraying my old motor and my understanding is i would be playing with fire if i sprayed on stock flycut pistons. Some guys do it sucessfully with small shots and good tuning while others melt through the pistons. Should i change my cam and fly cut or leave the short block as is and spray a decent sized shot through it. Oh and does anyone know where you can rent flycutting euipment, i know you can. 250 to have it fly cut seems a little expensive

I just rented his this last weekend. I tried the sandpaper glued to the valves, but I wasn't happy with how that was turning out.. I think my cuts had to be too deep. The paper edges deteriorated by .085 and I needed to cut .110

yeah flycutting is the way to go bump that compression and throw a .040 gasket on there and you car is really going to pick up...I have seen people cut as far as .120 and spray a 150 shot...

shoot me a pm if you want to rent the tools...
