Knocking? Clean Your Engine!
After doing a cam swap, I started to get a bad "knocking" of some kind. Really bad after warming up. Took it to 2 different muffler shops, no leaks. Buddy of mine says: Sounds like valve knocking coming through the exhaust.
From the top of the engine, it sounded great. When I got underneath with the engine running, it just sounded like massive detonation coming though the exhaust!
So I put seafoam in the gas tank, and ran 2 bottles of that mopar combustion chamber cleaner into the intake......it's gone!!
Gotta figure after 90K miles of burning oil, the combustion chambers were probably full of crap! I'm sure I'm not the only one that had/has this problem.
Might want to give it a try. Just do a search for seafoam, and you'll find the links to the mopar cleaner too. 30 bucks and my car was back to normal!
