Can you re-torque heads with headers inplace?

Default Can you re-torque heads with headers inplace?

is it imposible to get to those lower head bolts once the headers are bolted down. i want to re-torque after the break in and dont want to rip my exhaust all back apart.

You have to move the headers. You don't have to take them all the way out just loosen the the collector clamps from the y pipe and swing them over to the wheel wells.

I pulled and reinstalled a head on my car and the header was unbolted from the head but still attached to the Y-Pipe the whole time.

^ 2 good answers, the headers can not be bolted to the heads but the headers do not have to be completely unbolted from the exhaust.
