Default oil pumps

getting ready to drop my motor off at the machine shop to be rebuilt.its a 2000 ls1. doing 2.5 5.3 heads and most likely tv2, dual springs, prds, ls7 lifters, ls2 timing chain. so question is this. i want to replace my oil pump obviously since its the original. so is it necessary to buy a [I]ported[I] oil pump or will a stock ls6 oil pump be a worthy upgrade to an ls1. is it even an upgrade at all? im trying to keep costs down as much as possible so seeing if i could get away with an unported ls6 oil pump. thanks alot for any help

Stock pump or ported Ls6. Either way is fine. Get the best deal on whichever one that may be.
