Default Patriot Gold Extreme Valve Seals

About to finish up my install and do the springs using TDC method Already removed the springs/retainers/valve seals on Cylinders 1 and 6. I opened up the Patriot set and noticed all the seals are brown, where I understand that brown are for the exhaust and black are for intake. Is it ok to use all brown seals for the install?

Or would I be better off just getting GM valve seals? (I get a local wholesale discount)

A buddy of mine did say that the valve seals that came with Patriots are crappy and tend to leak.

Patriot uses Vitron seals, just order them directly from Patriot. I've never had a problem with their seals.

I already have the seals but thanks man. I ordered a few extras as I destroyed one trying to press it onto the valve stem.

Good call there. If I remember correctly, when I did my GTO (ls2) springs from patriot, The intake and exhaust seals had a colored ring close to the stem...One was red and one was blue. Im not 100% on that.

Those valve seals will work on both the intake and the exhaust valves...go head and install them.

PS Your buddy is wrong ... There is nothing wrong with those valve seals...I have 80,000 miles on the ones on the car now and they are performing perfectly...I put 48,000 miles on the set of seals before I installed the current ones.

I had the same question when I did my cam a few months back. I pm'd Chad over at patriot and this was his response.

We use one seal for both sides. The factory uses 2 different colors, but we use the same one for intake and exhaust
