Default LS6 to 383 stroker question

I'm not real familiar with the stroker kits but I whant to install it my question is am I going to have any machining or fab to the block or can I just buy it and bolt it all straite in?? Thanks

Yes the block will need to be clearanced and have your crank jounals checked to see if they need cleaning up...

Well I know TSP has a kit for 1600 an some change but what I'm tryin to figure out is what kind of clearences il need done so I can get an idea of what itl cost to have it machined preped an ready to install.

I'm putting together a 383 right now. The cylinders will need to be honed to 3.905, along with any other normal machining you need (install cam bearings, check the mains, etc). The only special clearance for a 383 would be the bottom of the cylinders so the rod bolts don't hit. Some need more than others. My bolts pass, but I'm going to remove a little more to be safe. I bought a Callies kit from Thunder racing. It's a little more money than an eagle or scat kit, but from everything I read, there have been less problems with them being out of spec.
