Default Oil pressure problem/ questions

Car once in awhile wont go over 30 psi even at WOT..
However if i stick it in neutral and rev it up it will go up normal.
This only happens once in awhile..
2001 ls1 TA
has a ported ls6 pump in it for around 40K miles now.
I use 5w30 mobile and outside temps are around 80-90 degrees here

verify it with a mechanical guage. if it acts normal in nuetral but doesn't build under load i'd suspect a thrust bearing issue. good luck man

thrust bearing keeps the crank from moving back and forth in the block. mine would hold good pressure in nuetral but as soon as the clutch put pressure on the crank it would drop like a rock. also would not build any pressure under load
