Default Cam and TSP LS6 heads

Im not sure who to talk to about a custom cam or picking out a cam, Im not an expert on cams by any means so any help would be appreciated. I read the stickies and I've read up on them a lot too. Which cam will make biggest horsepower with TSP's ls6 stage 2.5 heads? I'd like a rough idle. I would have just picked up a ms3 or ms4 cam to make things simple, but I can't tell what cams will have trouble with the valves hitting the pistons. I have pacesetter long tubes, stock motor, dual cutouts with a TSP true dual from the headers back. 2000 trans am.

The MS3 cam works well with the stage 2.5 LS6 heads, if you let TSP know in advance (see post #5).

I believe it was MS3 and 2.5 5.3 heads combo. From what I remember reading the ls6 heads have ptv issues with the MS3.

This is why you take internet advice with a grain of salt. The guy I quoted is just going off of what he's seen/read of the internet about the stg 2.5 5.3 heads and probably barely read the OP's question. The thing about it is a regular set of those 5.3 heads WON'T clear with an MS3 cam, TSP has to be aware you're using the ms3 cam and will recess the valves in the 5.3 heads to allow for clearance (probably still to tight too) with the ms3.

That being said, an MS3 cam will not clear with 2.5 LS6 heads.

Ok, you are right about the MS3. But, you can match it up with the stage 2.5 LS6 heads, you just need to let Texas Speed know in advance.
