Default oiling issue

I have read about "oiling issues" with the early block. I have a 98 block can someone tell me what these "oiling issues" are. is it just the pump? is it something that can be fixed? whats the deal.

mainly the pump, however the rear oil galley crossover that feeds the left bank lifters was redesigned for the 99+ blocks for better oil control..... but the iron 6.0 blocks have the same 98 design with no issues that I've heard of

They eat oil. Just make sure you keep it full. When you spin the motor up in the higher rpm range all of the oil goes to the top of the motor and the pan goes dry.
