Default Ball honing a cylinder

I'm in the process of rebuilding my LQ4 and it seems I'm gonna have to hone the cylinder walls. Is a quick ball hone a very delicate procedure to do on a stock bore size iron block or is it something I can do with the right tools in my own garage?

I have done it in my garage with a drill, not delicate or precise. Ball honing is for putting cross hashes back into the cylinders and not for removing ring grooves or sratches. So for cleanup yes repair no.

Thank you very much for posting the link to the lq4/9 service manual. That helps me out a ton!
