How many miles before dyno runs?
I only have about 2 miles on my car now.
Jay is going to put another 30 miles on her in the next day and heat cycle the engine/valve springs a few more times.I know the rings wont seat immediately but how long will it take before I can put it on the dyno?
I figure 60 to 80 miles max varying the rpm to 4000 and then letting it decel to seat them? Then give it a new filter/oil and blast it on the dyno to finish the ring sealing.Remember my shortblock isnt a stocker,Its setup alittle loose...
Opinions?

I'm with you there too Mike.....started,checked fluids and check for any leaks. I then changed the oil and on the dyno for some ring seating and wot pulls she went.

You know what they say, cars run like you break them in. It requires cylinder pressure to seat the rings good. The exception to the rule is springs, they need some heat cycling. If you get on it do it in 2nd or 3rd then let off the gas and let the engine slow you down to suck some oil for the rings.
