Default Horsepower guessers come in!

I'd like some opinions on potential power numbers, I know there's lots of variables but an estimated guess is better than no guess.

Here's the specs for a 402:

Approx. 11.8-12.0:1 compression.
Iron 6.0 block, standard bore.
4" stroke 4340 crank.
6.125 H-beam rods.
Flat top piston, 5cc reliefs.
Dart Pro-1 225cc intake runner heads, light clean up on intake side, light clean up with full polish on exhaust side, 2.05 intake valve, 1.60 exhaust, milled to 58cc combustion chamber.
Yella-Terra adjustable shaft rockers, 1.7 ratio.
Comp solid roller, 256in./262ex. @0.050, 0.690 lift both sides on a 106 LSA.
GM single plane with light clean up and a port match, HVH 2" billet tapered spacer on top to add some plenum volume.
850HP Holley, race gas.
Full MSD ignition.

That's pretty much the core parts, using the distributor conversion cover, going in a USMTS-type dirt modified. Like I said before, just rough guesses are OK. Thanks.

I don't know but with that setup you should consider a good port job on those heads. I think it would give you a significant increase.

I say 550-560 depending on tune...with race gas you'll be able to run more timing. I've seen quite a few high comp 402/408's make 530's pretty easily on pump. Thats a pretty stout combo you have. Should make for a mean all motor setup!

ill pull the high card 600rwhp. just because your using race gas, that makes for a very agressive tune possibility.

There's a dyno and bench racing sub forum in the racers lounge that was made for this type of thing.. also the actual dyno forum.. just sayin you'd probably get more answers cause of the regulars who look for these threads

I'm just curious as to why your only running close to 12 to 1 on race gas? My estimate is 530

with race gas and that much compression I'd say around 550rwhp. That motor should run well

We already had the flat top pistons for another project, we still might end up with a set of domes and bring the compression up some. I'd like to do 14-15:1 and put it on alcohol but the fuel system is already set up for gas.

How much would a Super Vic help on this engine?
