Default Torquing rockers to 30ft/lbs?

Both of my tq wrenches stop at 30 ft/lbs. Will torquing the rockers down to 30 vs. 22 cause any problems?

Do you want to go through the trouble of drilling, tapping, and putting a threaded insert in the hole if/when you strip it out?

Steel screw + aluminum heads/threads doesn't leave much margin for over torquing, especially when the bolts are that small.

The torque wrenches I have that only go down to 30 ft-lbs are entirely too big to be used to torque the rocker arm bolts. Do yourself a favor and get the proper wrench, or borrow one from a buddy.

Also, you are not supposed to use the torque wrench within 20% of the lower and upper limit. I agree, get a proper wrench.

that's a horrible idea... don't do it, you will strip out the aluminum threads.
