Default building a 6.0, thinking about 5.3 heads...valve clearance question?

so what i have is a 2002 lq4 at the machine shop. putting rods and pistons etc into the botom end. i want the compression to be about 11-11.5:1 when im done.

so, i was thinking about using the stock heads however 5.3's are pretty easy to find. im going to be putting a tsp cam and all the goodies to go with.

question then: if i go with a -3 dish piston (-~8 stock) and 5.3 heads possibly milled a little, will i be running into PTV issues with a cam with say .610ish lift?

Hello , how goes it ? I would say most likely there won't be any ptv issues . The duration is the main ting that can be a problem , but from what I've read on here about others set ups unless You have crazy long duration , You'll be fine . I've seen guys with 230's and 240's dur without any problems , but You might want to search around on LS1 tech and talk to both enthusiests and retailers . If You go to the top of this forum (gen3 internal engine) in 1 of those yellow stickies it says "cam guide" and in there there is 3 or 4 cam discussion threads . There is all kinds of good info in the cam guide and disc threads .
