Default cam thrust plate gasket question?

can I purchase a new gasket for that plate or do I have to buy a new plate in order to get a gasket?

There was another recent thread on this you may want to read. Also, be aware that the original design is no longer available and new bolts are required if you get the plate with the countersunk holes (which is the replacement).

Clean the plate real good, then look along the back edge of it...if the gasket is raised above the metal plate you can reuse it
