Does anyone have a cam retainer plate handy?

I got a new cam retainer plate for my upcoming cam swap. The new plate has countersunk holes for the bolts whereas based on everything I can find including my own photo's, the original is not countersunk but rather is flat where the bolts go through. In the first photo is the one that is currently in the car. The second photo is the new one. Part number is correct per my parts CD and there hasn't been a part number change from what I can tell and this is the correct part.
So have I completely lost my mind or is the original part countersunk and the shiny surface of the photo is masking it? Does anyone have one around that they can look at and confirm this for me? :*****:

I got the new retainer plate with the countersunk holes when I did my cam swap. You have to get the new style bolts that have a wider head on them. The dealer has them.
In the dealers computer it actually suggests getting the new bolts when you look up the retainer plate.
I also got a new cam gear from the dealer. It is improved, has oil slots on the side that faces the retainer plate to avoid the wear pattern shown in the photo above.

Sorry, I don't have the receipt for the bolts. You could try calling SDPC or just go to your local stealership and have them look it up for you.
Have you seen this before:
http://enginepartsplus.com/pdf/GEN%20III%20Hardware.pdf
It shows a number of LSx engine parts with part #'s and dimensions. One of the pages shows a 'cam shaft thrust plate bolt' that is tapered and has a torx head, size M8x1.25x18. My guess is they had some problems with those and switched to the big bolt head type.
Good luck with it.

That part number supersedes to 11570082, which is a standard bolt....it is not counter-sunk.

Man, am I confused as I thought the 11515756 was the original part number as that is what is on my parts CD which only goes through early 2002. ![Bang Head](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_banghead.gif)
Matt,
Is the retainer plate part number changing as well? The old flat (non-countersunk) part number was 12556437 and yet my new plate with the countersunk holes came in with the same part number.
I hope Matt doesn't mind if I post his e-mail response, as it provides a lot of information:
Those are what GM notes in their actual cataloging as the correct bolt.
It actually has a note "Use with bolt 11561455" when you look up the new
style cam retainer. We called GM to verify this, and several other
sponsors on LS1tech that buy from us have purchased these in bulk and
are using them as well.
GM switched to the counter sunk bolts like that to make room for the cam
phaser setups' crank gear. They needed the clearance there, so went
that way and superseded the old retainer to this new one. They only
sell the old bolts now because there are still a few of those floating
around and people need those bolts for service too....otherwise they'd
likely have superseded the bolts too.

The 11515756 bolt superseded to 11570082...it has always been a regular old hex head bolt. Still is.
The cam retainers was 12556437 and is now 12589016 (which is counter-sunk for the new cam phaser setups to come in...this way GM has just one part number for all Gen3/4 engines). Since there are still so many of us with the old retainers, GM could not supersede the bolts....we still need the old bolts often for service and such. In the GM parts system, when you look up a new Escalade for example, it shows the 12589016 retainer as OE....and has a note with it to use the bolt with PN: 11561455.
Does that help any?

Anyone know what the ARP bolts in the kit look like???
(part #134-1002) I'm thinking it's not counter-sunk style.
